Puerto Plata. – The executive director of the Punta Bergantín Master Plan, Andrés Marranzini, said that the plan's strategy is to incorporate a new hotel and tourism destination in Puerto Plata, which will include 4,000 hotel rooms with the development of major international chains, and more than 1,500 residential tourist units. He emphasized that in addition to the addition of hotel rooms, a strategy has been developed to create a fund to add eight weekly flights to Gregorio Luperón Airport at the same time as the inauguration of the first phase of hotel rooms, which would have 2,100 rooms. Marranzini said that in addition to tourism and real estate development, the plan aims to promote an academic campus dedicated to fostering education and innovation in the country, a film studio, and will contribute to the creation of thousands of jobs, among others. Additionally, it includes 2,500 mixed-use units, a clubhouse and golf course, a public and private beach club, and the creation of a unique themed village in the region. It is recalled that the property has nearly ten million square meters, more than six kilometers of linear beach, among other attractions to be developed in Punta Bergantín, according to El Caribe.
