Villa Montellano, Puerto Plata. – The Single Beneficiary System (SIUBEN), an entity attached to the Ministry of Economy, Planning, and Development, presented the results of the socioeconomic information survey of households conducted in the aforementioned municipality during the months of November and December 2024.

The general director of SIUBEN, Augusto De Los Santos, while sharing the most relevant data from the process, thanked those present for their attendance, including the executives of Punta Bergantín, represented by the director of Community Sustainability and Research, Leonela Volquez, as well as provincial and municipal authorities, especially the mayor of Villa Montellano, Héctor Almonte, who highlighted the importance of the work carried out to identify the community's socioeconomic conditions.

"This survey complements the Dominican government's efforts to promote the socioeconomic growth of this municipality, which, through the Punta Bergantín project, is developing one of the main strategies to guarantee access to diverse opportunities with the goal of improving the quality of life of our people," said the director of Los Santos.

The research, carried out in coordination with the aforementioned tourism-real estate project, seeks to identify needs that will be addressed, whether employment, social, educational, or technical training, in order to provide training and integration opportunities for both the value chains it generates and the various markets that comprise this investment.

De los Santos added: “For SIUBEN, by identifying and prioritizing the vulnerability of families as part of the purpose that defines us, this experience, edifying beyond belief, and of significant scientific value, meets the expectations for which we were created by providing decisive information for the sustained growth of Villa Montellano. We are also grateful for the trust placed in us by the Executive Director of Punta Bergantín, Andrés Marranzini, by promoting this initiative.”

Meanwhile, Leonela Volquez, executive of Punta Bergantín, stated that, “With the integration of SIUBEN, we are incorporating the strategy designed for the groups now identified to build, through our executive director, the sustainable development objective that encompasses Punta Bergantín, which is transversal to President Abinader's mandate for the region and has the support of the BanReservas group structure.”
