Montellano, Puerto Plata. – On the night of this Saturday the 31st, the fifteenth (xv) presentation of the Cañaveral Awards was held at the Montellano Recreational Club, where the best students, professionals and outstanding personalities of the municipality were recognized.
With the support of Punta Bergantin and the Montellano Municipal Council as official sponsors of the event, awards were given to outstanding young people and adults from the town.
Within the framework of this event, in an eloquent and fluid manner, Leonela Volquez, Director of Community, Sustainability and Research of Punta Bergantín, representing its executive director Dr. Andrés Marranzini Grullón, motivated the community of Montellano to “strive and prepare for the great opportunities that this great project will generate in the north and the country.”
Among the awards given, the highest award stands out: “The Great Canaveral", which was awarded to Don Andrés Polanco, an example of work, creator of a family with Christian values and a model of life for his family and those around him.
Likewise, the young Suldaireny Valdez, from the Mother Teresa of Calcutta High School, was recognized with the award for meritorious student of the year. She also holds this distinction at the provincial level.
With its participation, Punta Bergantin is committed to the social, tourism, economic, sports and educational development of Villa Montellano, and reaffirms its commitment through the opportunities that this project generates for the community.
