Bogota, Colombia – La Quinta by Wyndham is the new international brand coming to Puerto Plata, bringing 115 new rooms to this destination on the north coast of the Dominican Republic, immediately creating 200 new direct jobs during its construction phase. This was announced here at the ANATO Showcase tourism fair by businessman Edward De Valle, CEO of Grupo De Valle, exclusive owner of the La Quinta franchise along with other by Wyndham brands in the country. “What better setting to announce the construction of our La Quinta Puerto Plata hotel than at this ANATO Showcase fair, where the Dominican Republic dedicates its participation to the destination that saw the birth of tourism on this beautiful Caribbean island,” said De Valle, making the announcement at the Dominican stand. He noted that with this 2024 opening, the La Quinta by Wyndham brand will arrive in the country. The hotel will have 115 rooms, a lobby bar, a restaurant, co-working and meeting spaces, a well-equipped wellness center, and a pool. “We are here at ANATO as a way to support Puerto Plata, taking into account that Colombia has become one of the main tourist destinations to the Dominican Republic after the United States and Canada,” said De Valle. He understands that this is a very special moment since Wyndham Rewards, the award-winning loyalty program, has more than 106 million members looking for new destinations in the Caribbean islands. “Those 106 million Wyndham Rewards members have full confidence in the 24 by Wyndham brands and recognize La Quinta for its more than 900 hotels in the United States and Canada,” he indicated. He then noted that the United States contributed more than 47 percent of the tourists who visited “that beautiful Caribbean island,” emphasized De Valle while speaking with journalists covering the ANATO Showcase, which takes place from February 28 to March 1 in the Colombian capital. He reported that La Quinta Puerto Plata has joined La Quinta San Francisco de Macorís, which is currently under construction. The businessman highlighted the positive investment climate in the Dominican Republic and the excellent work being done by the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, in collaboration with the private sector.
