Martinón Group will build the first two hotels in Punta Bergantín
The Martinón Group, with Spanish capital, will be responsible for the construction of the first two hotel properties of the Punta Bergantín tourist development in Puerto Plata.
To make way for the construction of the two hotels, with an estimated investment of over 180 million dollars, it was reported that they are in the design phase and work will begin in the first half of next year 2024.
The development of the properties will become the most important hotel investment in the Northern region.
Thus, Grupo Martinón will make possible the incorporation of the hotel property to the new destination of Bergantín, for which reason it has entered into a preliminary discussion with the affiliates of Grupo Hyatt to use the Hyatt Ziva and Hyatt Zilara brands in the two hotels.
"This investment is a clear sign of support and confidence in what will be the new great destination in the north of the country," Punta Bergantín management said in a statement.
It is recalled that the international promotion and initial investment of Punta Bergantín, as a tourist destination, is part of the joint effort of the Ministry of Tourism (Mitur) and the Reservas Group (Banreservas), which manage the initial foreign investment and offer facilities for the development of hotel infrastructures that contribute to national development.
Upon completion, Punta Bergantín is expected to have more than 4,500 hotel rooms, as well as 5,000 residential rooms and a film studio, along with an academic campus aimed at promoting education and innovation in the country.
