Banco de Reservas will participate in the International Tourism Fair Fitur 2024, which will be held in Madrid from January 24 to 28, with a series of proposals aimed at promoting development and investment in the Dominican Republic.

The delegation, headed by the bank's general manager, Samuel Pereyra, has scheduled several rounds of business with investors linked to the sector, which will take place inside and outside the Ifema exhibition centre.

The Punta Bergantín project in Puerto Plata and those aimed at developing the tourist centers of Miches and Pedernales will be among the proposals to be highlighted by Banreservas, in coordination with the Ministry of Tourism.

As for Punta Bergantín, construction will begin this year on the first two hotels, which will be developed by the Martinón Group, with Spanish capital. Both are in the design phase and will have an estimated investment of over 180 million dollars. According to preliminary negotiations, the two hotels will operate under the Hyatt Ziva and Hyatt Zilara brands.

Banreservas will also have among its priorities supporting investment in the Miches Tourist Pole, where new projects are planned that exceed 735 million dollars between public and private investments, according to the estimates announced within the framework of Fitur 2023.

Tribute to Dominicanity

As part of the Fitur 2024 agenda, Banreservas will also pay “Tribute to Dominicanity” during its traditional cocktail party offered to investors, tour operators and special guests related to this sector, one of the main generators of foreign currency for the country.

Every year, in addition to its extensive business agenda linked to tourism investment in the country, the financial institution carries out activities aimed at promoting Dominican culture within the framework of Fitur, in which it is estimated that more than 8,500 exhibiting companies and more than 136 thousand professionals will participate this year, according to statistics published on the International Fair's website.
