Villa Montellano.– The Punta Bergantín tourism project organized a motivational day aimed at young people from various educational centers in Villa Montellano, with the objective of promoting the courses taught by the National Institute of Technical and Professional Training (INFOTEP), which will allow them to join the labor market that this initiative will create in the community.

During the event, which included the participation of Father Víctor González and Elvis Pérez, regional director of INFOTEP, the young people were informed about the training opportunities available and the importance of training as a tool for personal growth and integration into the emerging tourism development in the area.

The "Get Trained for Free" program was launched in Villa Montellano, offering courses in residential electrical network installation, basic English, accounting support services, and secretarial skills. Applicants must submit a copy of both sides of their national identity card; a certificate of completion of eighth grade, high school diploma, or higher education; and a completed application form.

The residential electrical network installation course lasts 280 hours and will be taught Monday through Friday, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Sessions will be offered on Saturdays and Sundays, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

The basic English course includes 300 hours of training and will be taught on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. On Saturdays, classes will be offered from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. Those who pass this module will have the opportunity to enroll in the intermediate and advanced levels.

INFOTEP will also offer a 280-hour course in accounting support services, Monday through Friday. This program will have two schedules: 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The secretarial assistant course will be offered on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The support of the Punta Bergantín tourism project for the educational program promoted by the INFOTEP office in Puerto Plata reflects its commitment to human capital development and the motto that guides this initiative: “Building the New North”.
