Andrés Marranzini Grullón, general director of the Punta Bergantín tourism project, offered details on the progress of the project at the meeting of the Ministry of Tourism with the tourism value chain of the province of Puerto Plata

Marranzini offered details on the progress of the Punta Bergantín project, explaining that this first stage includes the construction of nine hotels and 6,625 homes that will benefit tourism in the Bride of the Atlantic.

Marranzini Grullón stressed that the use of infrastructure construction in wetlands, mangroves, dunes, swamps, ravines and any other area of environmental vulnerability within the scope of the project is excluded.

The project has agreements with developers for the development of three hotels to date:

• 800-room Hyatt Ziva and Zilara
• Meliá Hotel with the joint investment of Meliá Hotels and Grupo
• Puntacana for 400 rooms
• Karisma Hotels with 300 rooms

Andrés said that a 30-meter strip will be guaranteed and respected on both banks of the rivers, ravines and creeks in Muñoz, Jacuba and Limonal, Chicigua, Polanco and Atollador, which cross and border the development area of the project. He invited the community to be part of this great feat.
