Bogota, Colombia – Hundreds of agents and professionals from the Colombian tourism industry participated in the Ministry of Tourism's DR Road Show, held this Wednesday at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, where Puerto Plata was presented in style through a presentation by Birgitt Heinsen, president of the Tourism Cluster for this destination. For the first time, the Minister of Tourism of the Dominican Republic, David Collado, gave space to a representative of a guest destination, as part of his regular presentation at international events where the Ministry of Tourism promotes the Dominican Republic. Under the slogan "Puerto Plata, Always Real!", the Puerto Plata delegation, represented by Birgitt Heinsen, presented in a vibrant and dynamic manner the diverse and unique attractions that make the North Coast an ideal option for the Colombian market to continue contributing to the growth of Dominican tourism. “We are grateful for this opportunity presented to us by Minister David Collado, in the midst of one of the best moments we have experienced in Puerto Plata, with a significant renewal of our tourism offering. The country's main cruise destination, innovative complementary offerings, renovations to the hotel infrastructure, and the incorporation of mega projects such as Punta Bergantín, put us in the spotlight as one of the best places to visit in the Caribbean,” stated the Cluster president. At the end of her speech, an artistic exhibition was presented as part of the promotion of the ADN Bachata World Festival, a festival and championship of this rhythm that has established itself annually in Puerto Plata, attracting hundreds of fans from around the world, lovers of this rhythmic Dominican genre. The presence of Puerto Plata as a guest destination motivated the participation of a large delegation, which traveled to the Colombian capital on a special Arajet flight, connecting Puerto Plata with Bogotá for the first time.
